need help......

how do i get the timing belt back on the cam gear on a 4th gen accord? it is an lx with the f22 engine

..I"m guessing you have to go in and loosen up the tensioner to get a little slack?

where is the tensioner at?

...take the wheel off...look at the tbelt cover...there should be a piece of plastic that can be popped off...not really sure..just thinkin its the same as a civic

hit up the accord forum at www.honda-tech.com ...I'm sure they'll be able to help, since the accord forum here is dead...

Yeah you have to loosen up the tensioner, when your looking that the cam gear if you look down on the lower timing belt cover you will see a black rubber plug, pull the plug out and there is a 12 0r 14 mm bolt undo it a twist or two, oh the bolt you can't really see because it sits kinda inside the cover, don't undo the bolt all the way either just a few turns, than put the belt on the cam gear, you will have to work it on. After the belt is on turn the crank a bit to get some tension on the belt and snug up the bolt for the tensioner that you loosened and your done.
