I've asked this question too, (it was moved to the tyre & wheel forum).

Really it depends on your area's regulations. But you should be able to go to 17"x7" wheels, and then depending on what the stock tyres are, you would probably be looking at something like 205/40r17 tyres....

Do you know what size tyres you car has at the moment?

I've got a 2001/2002 Lancer Limited Edition Sedan (Seen in my avatar & "my picture" in my profile), and thats what im getting (17"x7" with 205/40zr17's). Still waiting for them to get shipped to australia tho! (been waiting about 3 months now!)

WHat is the full marking on the tyre? (your missing 1 section)

I'll have a look and see if i can find out what the full tyre size is on your car.... I thnk they are the same as on my car.....

Looks like yours would be 185/65 R14 (taken from mitsubishi website), which is exactly the same as mine....

So yeh, you'd wanna get 17"x7" wheels, with 205/40r17 tyres. (thats what i'm getting, and its the biggest i can go to stay within NSW RTA guidelines)

As far as cost, you should be able to get a set of wheels & tyres for $2k no problems, but then it also depends on the brand/style of wheel and also what brand/style of tyre you want. (e.g. if you want enkei wheels with michelin tyres, there is no way your gonna get that for under $2k, probably be expecting double that..... But if you want a more normal priced wheel & tyre combo then you should be looking at around $2k.)

Hopefully i've been of some assistance....

BTW, the wheels i am getting are BSA 245's, not sure what tyres they quoted me for, but the price was $1830.
