Look for any post in this forum by "XOTech" and forward him a PM request with the pertinent information. He's probably the only person here who can really help you.

I think Dan Kennedy's Orange F1 is still for sale. He's in Arizona, but his car does spend some time here in the LA-area as well.

Good Luck! And when your family member gets one, be sure to come back and share the photos with us.

A family member of your has $1m+ to drop on another toy but needs you to find him one? huh I am having a hard time buying that sorry.......

BUT if that story is true, provide a copy of a bank institution saying that your family member is financially able to purchase one.
Bank institution knows how to handle that, do not worry, they will protect their customer privacy.
Once I see that the story is true, I will start the research for your member.

Mclaren tour will be included, visit of Pentagon as well obviously making it a wonderful experience.

I will provide him, on top of the deal, 1 year of concierge anywhere in USA free of charge.
A Mclaren buyer deserves that kind of treatment.

Sorry I did not clarify, but my family member is not in the states. He lives in Taiwan, so I am just in charge of finding the vehicle and dealing with the purchase and shipping. He doesn't speak english obviously, and I am his best contact here. Nonethless, I have found a few potential cars that my family is interested in. Thanks for your enthusiasm on the subject, but I will not need your expertise.

You'd be surprised how many are availble if you look hard enough. We are deciding on 4 different vehicles right now. A few are from Europe, but the others are here on American soil. I've seen McLarens around my area on some seperate occations. There's 1 in Saratoga and 1 in Los Gatos. We see 996 TT's galore, 360 modenas galore, a few GT2's, maranello's and lambos... and occasonaly a F50 that pulls out in the middle of the night. Lots of luxurious people here. =)

Yeah, these cars are all over Silicon Valley, although I rarely see F50s or F40s on the road. There's also several 288 GTOs in your town, and a CLK GTR.

Rarest of all, is a Mercedes Lotec 1000 that will be residing in Saratoga from tomorrow. It's the only one in the world. It was sitting outside the Hummer dealer and a friend of mine bought it last week. It's getting a new clutch put in at his mechanic's in Sausalito, and he will be picking it up with me tomorrow if there's no rain. 1000 bhp and rain don't mix too well!

Rgds,
Faisal.

Lotec C1000 only 2 cars of a 50 production run planned originally.

it is rated @850 HP.

Lotec C1000 will not do well any condition, any place, anywhere....
Interesting history coming with the car....

Post pics though.

there's only one running. the other one's in pieces.

we dyno'ed it. 1002 hp. it has been restricted since then, so the clutch should last longer...also put in an uprated Sachs unit.

do well? noone's planning on entering any competitions with it, so far as i know. it's a cool, unique ride. that's all.

yes, there's a lot to the history, from the backgrounds of the mercedes mechanics who built it, to the wealthy client who commissioned it, to some adventures it's been through. too much to post, though.

post more pics after everyone stole all my mclaren pics? uhhh, no.

But I should mention that it's for a good cause, as I plan to preserve them and share them with others so that they aren't lost to the world forever.

just about all of the factory pics on the web are the ones from my visit...the electric blue one, the green one, the white long tail, the silver one, papaya orange ones, the ones at the diagonal angles, with the doors open, etc. plus the ones from the storage room with the green longtail, the silver demo car, the buck, the clinic model, front of Paragon, F1 car in lobby, engine unit on stand, scale model, etc.

and the black and silver ones in the private collections. and the silver one with me driving, and the blue one with me in it, and the vids with me driving the silver one and the blue one and the green one...geez, i've been raped.

although i don't think some of my pics or vids are in wide circulation...you'll just have to look hard for them!!!

why do not you take the pics of that LOTEC C1000 and then WRITE FAISALKHAN on it, nobody will steal those. but at least you could prove your point..
When a guy gets his new toy, pics are taken so it should not be a problem

Also aren't you the one not so long ago asking for people to post pics of Mclaren F1's because you love it so much..
The pics of most of the Mclaren factory tour are from a guy in UK, that happens to drive a ...........

Regards to the "We dyno'ed it at 1002 HP" can you tell us more about that? dyno type, condition.....I let you picked the others major points to discuss, it can be so interesting.....

As a part of the "We dyno'ed it at 1002 HP", I was expecting you to get the right answer, first reason, why engine power has been downgraded....the clutch is certainly not THE first reason and you should know that... oh and reduce power but uprated clutch then, huh, any words about the flywheel?

Regards to my comments regards to the Lotec C1000 capabilities, I was not even thinking about racing........that car is a show queen, trailor queen.
It is a kit car that missed several essential stages of developments needed during development of a supercar.

I might be too tough in one shot with the LOTEC...
I would not start talkign about looks.....everyone's taste is different...
I do believe it carried an original price tag of $1.1m, it is nowhere its value.

Oops this is a Mclaren F1 Forum. Well talking about rare exotic cars can find a little room in that forum.

yeah, it's a friend's car and it's an exotic. other than that, i am not too interested in it.

several points i don't agree with you on...
it is not a show queen or a trailer special.
my friend intends to exercise it regularly. he currently has a diablo as an everyday car so i definitely believe he will use this car often as well. and it's quite driveable, i have driven it.

it's also not a kit car. just about each part is custom made. which kit do you think it comes from? i have seen the blueprints for the car so i can assure you that it is not made from a kit of parts or a collection of parts from other cars. the car's body is made up entirely of custom kevlar and carbon fibre parts, and considering this was done almost ten years ago, it's very impressive work. it's basically a first generation of the clk gtr--the same engineers who worked on this then went on to make that, and the similarities are remarkable.

the suspension and subframes are proven mercedes benz designs, and it has also been tested up to 220mph so i don't know what essential stages of development it could have missed.

the coolest thing about the car is the digital dash. but enough about this car. let's talk mclarens again...
