Thanks for the pics. However, the cost of the tire carrier is not my only reason for not ordering the mounting kit. For me, the spare tire up top will only be temporary. I'm waiting, and have been waiting the past couple weeks for AC to get my 2" body lift kit put together. After installing the body lift, bringing my total lift to around 5", I hope to move on to a rear bumper with tire carrier. Thus, reducing the amount of weight up top. Thanks for the help though guys, I'll probably just go with tie downs for now.

Here is the Surco tire holder on a Surco rack. That 74lb Swamper is a bitch to get up there!

I'll have to ask Craisy Daisy how he got his hi-lift to fit the ax/shovel holder because mine is not lining up??? Have to do some more head scratching on that one?

I hear voices...

Need a hand rrdstarr? More pics?

The jack (through my experience) will only line up on the drivers side. The flat base of the jack actually hangs off the back edge of the rack. That way, the jack can sit flush against the side of the rack.

Alignment

Thanks Daisy for getting back to me!
I turned the jack end for end and couldn't get the holes for the bolts, along with the two hooks on each rack to line up? I moved the hooks back and forth on the rack and still no success? Did you cut off one of the hooks?
I guess I do need more detailed pics if you have time!

Thanks again!

Sorry I didn't get you a pic yet Rick. This weekend was pretty busy for me. Expect a few pics tomorrow sometime.

So...Daisy...it looks like you have the bar through the upper hooks(kinda dark)? Is that correct? Then clamp just locks it in place. OR does the clamp bolt go through the bar?

Thanks again and again!

rrdstarr,

Yes, the hi-lift itself is mounted to the top most hook on the mount. I had to play with the spacing of course, but it only took a few minutes.

Good luck!

If you still have some problems, feel free to ask me for some specific pictures that maybe will better illustrate what I've done, so you can mimic it.

another way...

I have the Hi Lift Loc Rac, and for the life of me, can't figure out exactly how it's supposed to hold the thing on.

Anybody got one and how the jack mounts on it?

Edit: Never mind... I had it backwards....

Laughing at Matt!

I had one of those Hi-lift locks 15 years ago! It worked okay but wasn't really stable way to secure a hi-lift in a pickup bed! I should have bought those jeep bumper mounts and secured it between the rollbar. I am working all weekend but will post a pic when I get my Hi-Lift straightened out with my Surco shovel/ax mounts!
