300zxTT rebuild

I'm shooting at the dark here because I have absolutely no clue on what to do but... here goes. What exactly would I need to do if I decided to rebuild the engine and turbo of a 300ZXTT and how much would it cost?

I just had my '91 T/T redone. It consisted of : rebuild both turbos, complete upper engine rebuild including valve job, new: tensioner, waterpump, turbo oil lines( including bolts), and replaced every rubber part from the gas tank to the radiator.

All was done by a Nissan master mechanic on his time and ran about $6000. Oh, that included all brakes redone, too.

It would be much cheaper and faster to order a j-spec engine with 30-35k miles on it from Japan. It also includes the turbos. Check you're local areas for people that import engines. Engines here in Southern Cali range from 1500-2000 bucks. Hope this helps.

Yea but J-Spec engines are detuned...I think...at least they were w/the Supra's....the Supra's were slower than the USDM Supra's...

Weird...not saying it couldnt be fixed...but unnecessary hassle

On the contrary..jspec have more horsepower, i"ve heard anywhere from 10-20 extra horsepower. It has been my experience that Japan will/want's to have an edge on whatever product they sell out of Japan.

Not for the VG30DETT they run anywhere from 4500-5500. Plus the install, fluids, any matching electronics...It will get pricy!
