Are you the original owner? I heard that defect is covered if you're the original owner... R'member, that is what I heard.
Yeah, their paint had an adhesion problem during the g1 years... Its sucks, I know. My wip is half primered up right now gettin' ready for the paint next week. More than likely goin' to need to take it down to the metal. A few hundred extra, but damn paint. -Matt |

I am the second owner of the car. I bought it from the local state surplus, the car used to belong in the state motor pool. I got for 1600, with roughtly 96,000 on the clock. aside from the paint peeling off the roof and causing a huge rust spot, I was quoted about 350-400 to sand down and repaint the entire roof The Trunk has a small spot, but it is only at the primer, so I think I can just sand the edges, and get a touch up and cover it up. The interior is emmaculate, and even though it only has the AM/FM radio, no tape or anything, the bass on it nicely rocks the stock speakers

There was a problem with certain early Neons. I think it had something to do with the type of primer being used, and the color did not adhere to it well. I think the 2 most common colors this happened on where the Bright White and the Lapis Blue Neons. Since you are a 2nd owner, you'll prob have to cough up the $$ to get it fixed

So, since my car is the Bright White, I'm Screwed........
Does this mean that when I get the spots repaired, I should basically get the whole car blasted down and repainted??? Where should I go, Maaco? :jumpie:

Your best bet would be to save up some $$ and get the whole thing redone. And STAY AWAY FROM MAACO.

What's wrong with MAACO?? is it because they bake their cars, or is there some other reason? Whats the best way to tell if a body shop/painter is the one to go too?? :jumpie: :jumpie: :jumpie:
