Fiberglass Dash

OK does anyone know how to work with fiberglass that could give me some pointers or if anyone can give me some websites it would be apreciated. Want I want to do is put a 6 inch tv in the dash right where the front vents are in. Has anyone done this? I havent had any experience with fiberglass but i dont think it should be too hard. Who knows I am a fast learner.

Ive done a bit fiberglass work, you basically need a two chemcals your resin and i cant remember the other. You might also want to get fiberglass filler. The actual fiberglassing process isnt hard it just takes time. ANd the sanding afterwards. I would suggest going to a shop where they sell this stuff and ask them cause theyll know best. Thats what i did and im pleased with my work. Good luck,.

you'll have to do a lot of sanding to make it look good, so it's best to take the dash out if you can. If not, cover everything in your car before you start working. A dremel would also be a good tool to use for such the project.

how to fiberglass!

First make a trim ring to fit the monitor
Then make supports tobolt the trim ring to the dash in the angle you want it
Then take grille cloth and wrap the trim ring and stretch it over the dash and staple it.
Now you should have everything covered in cloth and ready to put on resin.
Mix the resin and hardener and brush it onto the cloth until it soaks in .Now you have a uniform shape and once it dries apply body filler and sand and shape as you desire!

e-mail me if any questions
