Super polishing cloth?

Has anyone tried it yet? Is it any good, better then a car wax? Any pics of the result? Worth buying it?

CAR WAX does not polish. Wax(except cleaner waxes) don't contain abrasives. And car wax is simply for depth and protection. That super polishing cloth is a high grade soft cloth designed for last stage polishing, comparable to tamiya compound.

Sounds like you aren't waiting long enough for the paint to harden, or you are using a non-cotton cloth.

To get proper tamiya compound results:

Be sure paint has hardened.

Wetsand any orange peel or blemishes with 2000+ grit sandpaper.

Clean off wetsanding dust. And let model sit so paint can dry again.

Get a clean 100% cotton cloth (such as an old fruit of the loom shirt) and apply a small amount of tamiya compound to the cloth. Then in small circles polish the paint. Do not continue to use the portion of the cloth that has paint on it since it can scratch. Once the body color paint shows up on your cloth switch to a clean part.

PMan also wrote a great writeup on this.

Sounds to me like your polishing metallic/mica paints that don't have a clear coat over it.. U must use clear over these paints.

if thats not the case, then your just a weirdo because Tamiya Compound is great polish.

i am using metalic blue
clear coat screwed all the paint. I had a nice reflection, and after a clear coat it was all gone.

The cloth is meant to be used with Hasegawa's ceramic rubbing compound. I have both. It works well. It's finer than Tamiya compound and I have found it works best on clear parts.

It's a micro-fiber cloth, like the ones used to clean eyeglasses. You can pick up a small square at any eyeglass store for $2-3, I have two. hirofkd told me that there were different 'grades' in the quality of the micro-fiber cloth, so I don't know; it is pretty expensive at around $8..
