Help! I got my RSX (automatic w/ triptronic) 3-4 weeks ago. Right now it is at 1500 miles. Heres my problem. At 100 miles, i let my cousin drive it. On the freeway, he drove really fast- on triptronic, he would downshift often. At first, when he was tryin to get to 80, he waws on 4th gear, downshift to the 2nd, and the rpm went up. After a split second (like right after changing to 2) he shifted up to like 5. I dont know if he redlined it or not becuase i wasnt looking. But later, we did 2 burnouts that were like 1 or 2 seconds- maybe less each (small burnouts). Now my car is at 1500 miles. I am not having any problems. My car feels and runs just fine. I treated it like a baby, the only time i treated it rough was then. Nothing is wrong with my car, it feels fine, i m just worried. It just disturbs me. Alot of people told me there's really no break in time for a rsx automatic because its a small engine and it doesnt really matter. Should i get it checked out by a mechanic or anything. People also told me if u do a burnout 2 or 3 times, it doesnt really matter, unless if u do it often, like everyday. I only did 2 of them that day and drove it fast. The total time we drove was like under 7 minutes or so. Please Help and advise me. Should i get it checked by a mechanic? It just disturbs me.

Well if everything is functioning the same as before, I don't see any problems...however, I don't know too much about cars so you're probably better off waiting for an opinion from a more experience person...but when I got my car, the dealer told me there was a ~1500km break in time, it's actually in the car manual too, saying that you should stay away from high revs.

I would suggest you wait until you put on at least 3,000 on it. You always want to baby your car when you first get it, so everything can settle in the engine (i.e. piston rings).
I don't see you having any problems with it just as long as you take it easy. The first day I got my type s, I had a little power jonez and redlined it a couple of times, and the car was fine. Once you hit 3,000 you'll be fine, and you can have as much fun as you want!
