cool, ive always wanted a 6th gen hatch. well if you just wanna beat geo's, idk waht kind of geo your talking about. but a b16a hatch, will spank pretty much any geo out there unless its souped up one like turbo and all. a b16 swap should cost you about 3500, around there

try check www.hmotorsonline.com

Will this engine fit in a hatch? and is there a difference between hydraulic clutch and cables ? I think I have hydrualic stock tranny.

which from that page is best bang for the buck?

And again Thanks for a great link

Also what is the average cost for person or shop to do an engine swap?

....Annnnnnnnnnnnd, last one I promise...is this everything I need?

yes the engine will fit, but you need a mount kit, custom axles and either a wiring kit or do custom wiring(pain in the ass) and you probably wont be able to keep your ac or power steering. also you do have a hydraulic tranny.

well the h22a will give you around 170whp. for that kind of swap, idk how much a shop would charge, you would just have to go ask them the price, because the h22a is not a bolt in engine and requires some custom parts, i believe. any b series would be a bolt in though. a gsr engine would give you 150whp but would cost around 5000 for that swap.

but yes the engine will fit but its not bolt in, requires a mount kit, i believe www.hasport.com has the kit. theres a difference between teh shifters but both are hydro clutched.

idk if thats everything you need, again you would have to go ask a shop, i dont think anyone on here has a h22a in there car, well at least not in a 6th gen hatch. i know someone with a 4th gen hatch on here that has a h22 swap.

i think to help you in deciding what motor you should get, we will need to know more about what your performnace goes are, like i mean do you only want 150hp and thats it, no more ? do you plan on making your car like an 11 sec car ? do you just want a 13 or 14 sec car ? i think that would help us further help you in the right direction

and 15s in a dx hatch, come on.

serious man get an ex tranny and if you have some good driving skills he will see 15's atleast in a cx anyway not too far off just weight really and some minor stuff.

and if all he wants is 150 hp upgrade fuel pump/injectors and spray the y7....cheapest way to do it, he could even boost it producing that much on stock internals probably.

The car has 100k miles, and just feels really slow, I think the D16 engine I have was quoted to me by a friend at 90 hp? I will go for the easiest swap that can do anything over 150 hp. After that I would like the norm stuff like intake, exhaust and dont see a turbo in the future since it would cost the same as engine, lol but only because I can't afford it. B16 sounds good too, but when I ask it gets harder as far as SOHC or DOHC or SI engine....but I am fine with B16, I see other civics(stock) take off the way I would like mine to, but mine just doesn't. And I can drive stick, all i have ever known..so if that helps with what I want or plan please give advice =) no racing, no shows, just faster than what it is..

well a b16 will give you 160 flywheel hp, around 135 whp. then if you get the basics like intake header exhaust, then you shoudl be pushing around 143 whp, which is good. your car will feel fast with a b16

oh and your stock motor puts out more like 108 flywheel hp.

idk if your talking about whp or flywheel hp, which one are u talking about

your motor is rated at 106 to be exact and if you dont wanna race i seriously wouldent spend all that money on a motor swap, it would be way smarter to stick with that engine if you dont wanna race or anything and just want more power
