Test Drive

The first Evo in Austin and I test drove it, the Evo8, and i have to say DAMN!!this car pulls like nobodys busness. Took it up to 110 mph and i could still go...but the dealer peed his pants so i stoped.

Brimbo brakes as big as my head and wing as big as....well i cant say it out loud :smoker2: . Excelent car, but im still waiting for the STi.

I've read at least a dozen reviews so far and the one thing that seems to be definite is that you will not be disappointed. The best one I read was from a Subaru enthusiast suprisingly. Looking like this is going to be one fun ass hell car to own for those who are fortunate enough to be able to afford one as well as procure one.

I'm just glad they finally made it over here. It'll make driving around that much more interesting.

sorry about the miss spell and the wing is awesome. I accually test drove it again and a little eclipse tried to race me and i blow him out of the water it was funny...the dealer even said go for it

well my friend went to go get his today...when it came in it was 30,062.00 then they added 7000.00 for alarm(2000.00) synthetic oil change for as long as u have the car(2000.00) Sunroof(780.00) keyless entry(400.00) and there was a car protection(2000.00) which i asked what that was and they said if u spill on the interior or scratch the paint they will come fix it or replace it.

after all was said and done they wanted 6500.00 down and 748.00 a month for 5 years...thats 44880.00 not including the 6500.00 down all together my friend said hell no

Dealer markup and price gouging have shown themselves to be serious issues with many dealerships. Honestly, probably the best hing to do is wait for the second allocation and hope the prices drop accordingly. Basically, the Evo is on a limited release, not limited production (from what I've read anyway) so getting you hands on one should be easy enough. Getting your hands on one NOW may cost you though. (Though there are still several dealerships nationwide who are not taking part in these increases and will sell at MSRP)

Unhappy Price!!!!

You should come to Ireland and try and buy an evo!! Try this, EVO 7, imported from japan, total price including VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) 64000 Euro, also roughly 64000 Dollars. I'm presuming the evo 8 is the same. Only consolation is that we get the Evo WITH the AYC and ACD and more power I think?

It's grey market in Ireland, right? At'll cost you. You should see the price of importing and R34 GT-R to the states. (96,000USD).

Anywho, at least you can get earlier Evos in Ireland. I think there's maybe 5 street legal Evos 4-6 that I'm aware of in the US. And I mean TRUE Evolutions.

EVOs

Here in Ireland the evo 6 is common enough, now when I say common I mean you MIGHT see 2 on the road in a month. Thats why I went for the Evo 7 (blue)... I got the car in sept 2001 and to this date I have only ever seen One other EVO 7 in the flesh (or metal!) and that was another one that I test drove before picking up my own.
