importing a 1996 BMW 528I from France

I need some information on how to import a BMW from France, the car is in France and needs to come into the USA

its gonna be a pain in tha ass.

france has different emissions specs then the US. and being that new the emissions requirements for them are pretty tight.

not to mention you might have to change all the glass in the car to meet the DoT specs.

It will cost money to bring it here, importation tax, and a lot of money to modify it to regulation. My father did the same thing. Unless you are deeply in love with your unique car, better to sell it there, and buy one here.

Well, to give an idea on the costs to convert a EU spec car to a US spec they tells us it usually starts at $6k, and then goes up from there depending on its age and how exotic of a car it is. That price also does not include the storage fees while its being worked on, or the shipping fees if you had to pay that yourself.
