B18C5 Type-R into a RHD CRX_siR!!! HELP

Hi there everyone, ok here it goes

I got my hands on a RHD CRX EF6 not to long ago, it came with a D15b engine CARB. with automatic trany. I purchased a clip from a CRX EF8 and converted all the wiring, manual pedals, dash, A/C, motor I mean everything. The car was runnig fine with the stock EF8 motor B16. I have been saving for what seems forever but I think I have enough now. I have 7000 to spend on the car I really want the type-r motor and have enough for it. Now I figure since it has the stock B16 wiring shouldnt be as hard but thats why I come to you for help! Does anyone know how hard it would be to drop it in would I have to cut or anything, what would i need mounts what kind? ECU? AXELS? if you guys can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Ill post up pictures if I can figure out how. Ohh yeah im in CALI.

Thx again. Sam

Ok man... First off Im going to have to tell you NOT to buy the "Hype R" engine... Its a complete waste of fucking money! You can get a B18C1 Here www.hmotorsonline.com for alot less... Just call them and work out a deal. They are verry trustworthy and will have the engine to you in no time! Pluss these guys are experianced with motor swaps and can hook you with whatever you need.

In my opinion go with the JDM B18C1 (GSR motor before it got an irepairable fucked up Port and Polish and called a TypeR) These have almost the same HP as the USDM typeR's and cost a shitload less. Now take some of that $7000 like the other $4000 that you didnt use on buying the HypeR and send the head and block to EnDyn in texas and have them build it for you.
If you have any doubt about the quality of these guys work I can give you a link to an article on the owners 90 DX hatch which has been runing the same D16A6 for the last 6 years making only 480 HP...
I think that speeks for its self. All you have to do is decide what your doin with it. I say you go ALL MOTOR, but hey thats just me

I'm not going to assume he's from the US given he's talking RHD.

The rest of the world (well, Australia at least) got the 205bhp ITR motor with LSD gearbox etc in our ITRs. The VTiR 'teg that the rest of the world got (your GSR) came with a 178bhp B18C - but even so, I'd take the ITR motor over the C1 because it's the superior engine (well, if it came from Japan it is).

Back to the first question...

You will need the gearbox to go with it (for the LSD!!!) and the shafts will need to be modified. You will need the ITR ECU and it will not plug in on the SiR harness - get ready to spend some money there. Clutch is hydraulic not cable, more fabrication needed. The engine sits slightly taller than the B16A - this IS an issue if you have the SiR front end of your car and are using it's mounts as the engine is positioned higher and on a slightly different angle to the aftermarket "adaptor" mounts by hasport etc. In the one instance I say it done here, the SiR bonnet needed to be massaged a little. Radiator will need an upgrade.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head... except the need to upgrade your brakes.

Send me money and be prepared to pay freighting and import duties etc... I can supply you with a Si CRX (factory ZC, power steering, power windows, aircon, power mirrors etc) or a GL Hatch (D15B ECU controlled twin-carb - 100bhp) with ps/aircon/power windows and mirrors

Hell... if the price was right I might even be able to supply you with a SiR Civic

The lure of the S13 Silvia is calling stronger and stronger :smoka:
