what else besides the oil can cause mass gas consumption..... like really massive, i drove 135 miles on a full tank of gas(10 gallons) with my d16a6.... and i'm nearly on empty now..... what do you think?

for you Redline, i think it's because b20's eat alot more gas than d15's..... just like my h22, it get's about 20mpg in the city and 28mpg freeway..... but it's not normal for my d16 to eat that much, it usually does like 35 miles per gallon(freeway)

frostee...I love reading every time you post, cuz I get to see that h22 stuffed in a 4g

Anyway - you could just have a bad batch of gasoline. My worst mileage was about 25 with the d15...and my best about 40. The first thing I would check is one of the spark plugs and see how they look...then check out the pictures in the Chilton/Haynes manuals (I know everyone has one...it is right there next to your Helm ) for some ideas maybe?

Over here in MD, they oxygenate the fuel from November to March, to 'help' with emissions in winter time. That also typically lowers mileage about 10%...but not as much as you're talkin' -

I wish I had something else for ya. Have you thought about water in the fuel? Maybe throw in a bottle of that dry-gas stuff, which is really just ethanol I think, but it helps the water evaporate or something...if it keeps up after the next tank...I'd start investigating further...

it sounds like some bad gas to me also, unless you were racing and redlining every shift, then thgat would be your problem.

hmmm?... i dunno... i dont think it's the gas.... i always get chevron gas. This time i was using 91 octane, and that shit's like almost 2 bux per gallon here.... it probably just went up to 2 bux last night.... Maybe it would have something to do with having the car sitting in the backyard for a few weeks undriven cuz i was driving my h22 hatch..... i'll check the plugs later to see if they're ok.

did you drive up hill both ways !

to let you know in CA all gas at the pump is required to have an oxygenate ETHANOL or MTBE and a fuel detergant ,

for me non branded regular 400 miles a tank

not really related but sort of so...

when i put a pg7 ECU in my car i got about 140 miles per tank.
I put the pm6 back in and got 250 miles per tank.

big difference.
