My new ZC engine...........

I blew the head gasket and cracked the head on my auto 1.5L DX about a month and a half ago so that engine had to be replaced.

It was replaced with a 1.6L ZC engine and converted over to a standard tranny using an si tranny.

Let just say it was quite a step up in power output and spinning tires is achieved very easily

Here are the pics...

I don't know I never did it.

I dont have the tools or the time so a mechanic did it. I heard its a good days worth of work.

$3000Cdn incl. tax for everything. ZC engine, si tranny, mpfi stuff, auto to manual stuff, axels, new water pump, timing belt, plugs, fluids and all labour (i think thats it). And that includes a 3 month warantee on all parts and labour.

$3000Cdn = $1800US

And the hood closes fine but it is rubbing as you can see the small red scuffs on the belt cover. A zc hood is in the near future.

Good thing. If it rubs long enough, it can push on the timing belt cover, and cause wear on the belt. If left unchecked, it can cause your timing belt to snap... resulting in ugly engine damage. You would be amazed at how well a ball-peen hammer wrapped in a hand towel can provide a quick fix, if you know what I mean.

or he could take the timingbelt cover off

that would provide the proper clearence.

I solved the problem with 2 1/8" washers to shimm down the engine.. not it sits fine timing cover on and everything.

Well if its stock, 130-137... The 7 would come from the fact that normaly when people do this swap they change the header to fit... The stock ZC 4 into 1 header wont bolt up right since its desighned for a dual exaust setup... I like the idea of a dual exaust... Just not on ither sides of the car, that looks rice to me. I think if you had two small mufflers and ran two straight pipes from an aftermarket header you would see some nice HP gains in the top end.

My ZC and what I am planing for it:
EnDyn 11 16:1 pistons (Im ordering them monday since there not open on weekends).
Eagle rods.
DC Header (I have this and have already port matched it, But Im resurfacing the face as well).
Web Cams (Im sending them my stock ones to have them hardwelded, ground and resurfaced).
HKS cam gears.
Arp head studs and a SCE copper head gasket to boot 0.023 ! (Thatle keep that shit in there .
ZEX wet nitrouse oxide setup... Lookin to spray like 50 shot... No more than 75...
PM7 ECU (I need to find one for a 5 speed) This will get hacked by ZDyne... 8500 RPM's...
AEM fuel rail.
AEM Under drive pullies.
AEM CAI (Already own, but need bypass).
ZEX or VENOM Injectors, probably lookin at 310-350cc range.
Some kind of fuel presure regulator.
5 Quart oil pan.
New clutch and a trany rebuild or a new trany all together.
BBK 62mm TB.
EnDyn Springs and retainers.
Also new HONDA rocker arms are in order for the new camshafts to accept the new wear pattern.
MSD ignition system.

Work that needs to be done to it:
Head:
Clean and resurface head. This includes removal of the valves and cleaning them and cleaning the guides as well, the seats may need resurfacing since I noticed there wasnt a verry good seal.
Block:
Resurface the head and bore/hone cylinder walls and clean. I may or may not do some ballancing (Probably will since Im gonna have all that loot into it anyway)

I think thats about it as far as buying parts except of course timing belts and all that crap...

I hope to make between 200-250 WHP with this setup... With the nos of course What you guys think?

Nope.......... it looks stock right now. No one knows that it isn't the stock dx engine and I want it to stay that way, airbox and all
