I wouldnt take the risk without a splashguard but I guess bypass valves work real good. Nobody really knew if they worked good so the president of AEM took his 500 or 600 hp NSX and completely submerged his filter in water with the bypass valve. He took it all the way to redline and didnt suck up a drop of water. The look on his face was hillarious cuz he was even real scared but it worked great.

Well i've been driving my car around with cai without splash guard. I just stay away from puddles. I would get that aem bypass valve. It really works.

yup, bypass valve is sposed to work REAL well for that thing,
but IMO your engine isnt gonna get signifigant amounts of water unless your filter is fully submergedm just be careful

the only thing i hate about that bypass valve thingy is i would i CRINGE when you have to cut the CAI tube in half

i have heard that the only way the bypass valve will work is when the filter is completely submerged... i don't have confirmation on that, but i'm looking for it. for some reason i just can't find anyone willing to try it hehe

I think they sell them in 3 different sizes. They do that so that you can use them on any intake system. So in other words, yea just use the AEM one.
