735i problems

There seems to be a few problems with my 1986 735i. Two main things are that the drive shaft "u joints" are loose and need repair, and the power stearing gear box is leaking. The car works smoothly however, i need to know if these things could ruin the car if not replaced immediately, and some kind of estimate as to how much it would cost to fix these malfunctions. Any advice would be helpful.

1986 BMW 735i

Hi,

I have found a beautiful 86 735i that I would like to purchase. It is mint and has only 50k certified miles. Can you tell me how long you have had yours and how well you like it? Thanks.

Exclamation Lateshow - u-joints/power steering!

Oh yea... That power steering is connected to the brakes and if that isn't fixed, sooner or later you won't have brakes either.

The u-joint will make lots of banging noise and sooner or later they will fall off. The power that the 735i put on the drive drain will make this worst day by day.

I had the power steering problem and let it go (mostly parked) until the brakes were dangerously reaching the floor. I had lots of other things done so it cost $3500 (new roters front & back, brake caliper f/b, power steering)
