What have you been sent to the hospital for?

We all get beat up one way or another. But sometimes things are bad enough that you need to go to the Hospital. What have you been there for?

Myself, I have only really been twice. The first time was when I was around 13-14. I broke my right wrist. We thought we were cool running of chairs, slamming the ball in Basketball. Well, I happened to hold the rim to long, and fell, landing on my wrist. Ouch, that really sucked.

The latest was when I was in a fight, I recieved some broken ribs

Then I guess there is one more time. When I was in the military, we decided to get mad ass drunk. I downed a full bottle of Gold Schlagger, and a few shots of Vodka. :apuke: They had to pump 2 IV fbags of fluid into me

LOL

I had a few cases.

1. When I was real little I thought I was Superman and tried to move a big 2x2 cement patio block, I crushed my foot in the process.

2. Broke my finger catching a football with my fingertips.

3. Just visiting when my sister broke her arm.

Wow, where do I begin.

In high school got into a fight and got sliced in two places near the shoulder area.

Needed stitching for busted lip in bar fight.(I love bar fights)

UPS made sure my back would never be the same, threw that out when loading a box that was mislabled by saying it weighed 70lbs instead of 150lbs.

That's it for now.

When I was 2 I walked into a brick corner (fireplace) and cracked my head open. I also knocked myself out at the same time. So I was rushed to the hospital. Hit my head again later that year and knocked myself out again. Back to the hospital, nothing serious, go home. Knocked myself out at least twice a year until I was 8

Two such incidents: When 5 years old, I donned a red Superman cape and tryed to fly by diving off the back deck. Landed on my head and knocked myself out. 2nd incident, when I was still 5, at Arby's, my head was level with the hinged garbage can doors (that say Thank You). I punched the door, it swung in, then swung back out, hit me in the head and knocked me out cold.

Also, when 3 I told my sis to pull me up the stairs by my arms. She yanked. I stayed put. Rushed to the hospital, dislocated arm.

When 3, I leaned all my weight on a dinner tray. It didn't hold up. Rushed to the hospital, broken collarbone.

I broke my thumb once too, but didn't go to the hospital.

Had to go once. I bought a busted moped, and knowing nothing at the time about engines at all, I somehow got it running again. Anyways I took it to this huge hill in the bush where its kinda rough terrain and theres trees and stuff. So im going down the hill with a winding trail and plenty of trees, just flying when I realize theres a bit of a jump at the end, I slam on the brakes to avoid it, and instead of slowly slowing down, the brake cable came out of the brake, and wrapped around the front wheel. needless to say, i stopped very quickly, i flew off the bike and smashed my collar on my right side all to shit.

I walked home and I was like "mom I think u should take me to hospital" she almost fainted when she saw the shards of bone sticking out of my shoulder. Ended up in a sling for weeks.

That was the only time I had to go to the hospital for medical treatment, ive been there more times, but it was mostly to visit sick family members, or friends who got hurt doing dumb things.

When I was around 8 or 9, I had Dengue fever, so I stayed in the Hospital for a couple of weeks. It was ok cuz I was excused from school!

Then I broke my foot while playing basketball. (Mental note: wear high-tops when playing b-ball.) I landed awkwardly. Sadly, my friends didn't believe me and just kept making me play. Good thing it didn't get any worse.

you're the man!

well I've been twice for getting stitched up... i hit my forehead on a slide when i was like 4 years old, knocked out. The other one i was riding my bike down the street when i was like 7, i wasn't paying attention, my handle bar hit a parked car outta nowhere... anyway i flew over the handle bars and landed on my chin, some stitches there, knocked out once again.

I've never broken any bones though, when i was at the hospital they said for some reason i have incredibly strong bones, they said i should have broken my jaw landing on my chin. There were several other occasions that i should have broken a bone, but the worst i had was sprained

A few years ago I was riding my bike (one of my hobbies). I was sprinting down an asphalt street, going a little over 25mph, when one of the clip-in pedals broke....my foot flew up into the front wheel and sent me over the handlebars. My face was scraped in two places, the right side of my head (under my hair) and the back of my ear were all scraped up too (the doctor said they were equivalent to third degree burns). Huge cut on my forehead (stitches there), scraped my forearm, my knee, and the worst was my shoulder. All of the skin had been scraped off and the bone had been "filed down". The memories are so vivid

oh yeah, broke half of the spokes in my front wheel (from my foot), bent the rest, broke the brakes, knocked off the gear shifters, and bent the handlebars....that cost me a pretty penny to fix

I was dying as I read this!!! :hehehe:

Do you even remember your childhood?

I've never been to the ER for myself. I've had a few scheduled surguries, but never been "rushed" to the hospital.

Hah, yeah, breaking my collarbone when I was 3 was my first memory, I remember sis dislocating my arm too. I remember the superman incident, but my parents had to tell me about the Arby's thing. Everybody in the place was screaming, my parents had to calm everyone down..."It's OK, he does this all the time" I also remember knocking myself out 3 other times...the last time (8 years old), I was practicing dribbling a basketball while running backward (don't ask ), and I smashed my head against the wall, which came sooner than I thought it would...

Another time I was playing dinky cars with my friend. We were running around pushing a car as fast as we could. We had no idea where we were going, we were both watching our car instead of in front of us, and we ended up hitting our head together, I got knocked out, he didn't . Also, once I was try to do a backflip off a chair, of course, I landed on my head.....

I didn't even know about it until a few years ago when my parents told me...I broke out laughing but thought they were just joking...then my aunt (who was there at Arbys that time) backed them up

I dumped a 50cc dirtbike May '99, should have gotten stiches, but decided not to go to the hospital, now I have these 2 huge scars on my arm. One was a huge deep cut, the other was a 1 cm deep "crater"
