i tried to take the needles off my DX cluster (i bought the Si).. anyways, i used two screwdrivers to pry under the needle... didnt work! just snapped the little piece of metal that holds the needle on. so i ruined the cluster.. if it were me, i'd cut slits in the new guage faces, and slide them in..

when i swaped clusters, i had to get the needles off, i just slowly wedged a flathead screwdriver under it and just slowly worked them off, being very careful not to hit the thin part of the needle.

dude u know that if u use paper it will like go all crumply and fade, and ur dash wont light up as good cause u got paper covring the lights. I already tried it with sum "paper face guages". I just ripped them off after a while. But if u really want to, just cut slits as DIRTYDX said.

you dont need to take them off or cut slits in the guages to get around the needle, just slide the needle through the center hole of the guage and your done.

when i was painting my dash i had my gauges masked off but i guess i missed a small spot and when i sprayed i covered the number with paint, i tried to get it off with a little bit of laquer thinner and i didnt know the whole gauge face would rub off, pissed me off, was cursing and swearing lol. so i'm just doing a temp fix untill i have time and money to get new ones. i guess it wasnt accidental, did it on purpose but the faces coming off was accidental cuz i didnt mean for that to come off. also i think i'll just do the slit idea... i tried the hole in the center and sliding it over the needle but the needle gets big at the end where it connects, cutting a slots just easier.
