Fujimi Enthusiast Series

Wow these kits seem very very detailed out of the box! Can anyone shed some light on the overall quality of the parts/fit/ etc.?

In my opinion, the Fujimi Enthusiast Series is quite a kit. It is highly detailed, the overall quality is excellent, much better than the corrent model kit I think. It might be a bit expensive but it is worth buying. I've got three of them, a Lamborghini Countach, a Porsche 911 slant-nose turbo and a Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona Speciale.

I feel that the 911 is the weakest in this series, but that's by no means bad. I was just expecting a lot more detail. Their ferrari daytona is really something though.

"Weak" by enthusiast model standard, right? Because 911 was the first of the EM series. They updated the engine tool, and the later (I think after Targa) has the internal parts such as the piston, conrod, crankshaft etc.
The biggest problem is the wheel and tire. Did the 911 had 15in back then? I'm not sure, but it has to be replaced with Real sports series.

The Enthusiast series is great for detail but they do have some minor fit issues and there are allot of small parts to cleanup that don't have the best placed attachment points to the sprue. Overall they are pretty nice though.

I doublechecked, and found out that it was 911 Turbo Cabriolet, and onward.
But some other 911 are still based on the first tool, so you have to be careful.
I checked Fujimi catalogue 2003, and it seems that the updated engine tree is not in production this year.
