Performance - Coil Overs or Springs

Which are better when it comes down to performance? Springs or coil overs? My car will not be driven in the winter so i wont have a reason to raise it for snow or anything. My car will only be driving in spring, summer, and fall. I want performance, not looks. What would be a good set up for a mostly street driven car that visits the track on the weekend?

Springs usually only come in one specific spring rates whereas coilovers can be ordered with custom rates. I increased mine by about 2-3x as stiff. So for performance purposes I would go with coilovers. Just make sure you match them up with some decent shocks.

go with coilovers, for sure!
getting just springs is useless, esp. if u drop it really low.. ur shocks are gonna blow. then you'll have to spend money on that.. why not just do it right the first time?

since you're not driving in the snow, u dont have to worry about rusting either. so go w/ coilovers!!

umm yeah you do know that with either springs or coilovers you SHOULD get springs, right? When you said that it sounded like you'd only need to order shocks if you were getting springs.

I think if you can get your coilovers set up right and you want to ride low go with them. But MAKE SURE you also get springs with them!

okay, my last post up there didn't really make sense, I think I got confused. My point was either way you go you should use shocks with your setup.

Do it right the first time no matter if you get coils or springs, and pick up a set of shocks to match it
