This is kind of time consuming the first time you do it, but as you do it alot over time it's a snap....
I have a 2000 model 4 door....
the door handle has a screw behind it
the handle you pull to shut the door has a screw in the bottome of the cupped part and I believe there are 2-3 other screws around the edges of the door, you'll just have to look....

Ok, start pulling on your door panel around the bottom, it's easier to get your fingers in there. I know it sounds horrible but when you pull pretty good on the bottom it pops really loud. Dont' cringe, that's normal...the rest of the way you are going to be pulling those clips out. That's all they are. Just keep popping your way around the panel and pretty soon it'll start to hinge up around the window seal.....Now just pop out your power window/mirror/handle controls and start disconnecting wire harnesses. There's one for your door light, one or two for your power window controls/mirrors and then work the door panel off pulling straight up and back and forth. YOu don't have to be violent with it, you just have to work it off. I know it sounds tedious but it's really not. To install speakers, You could probably just pop all the poppers out and take the screws out....that should give you enough clearance to work with the speaker w/o removing all the wire plugs and such...it's up to you. Hope this helped.
