Re: Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick
Final coat of white is done. I'll leave this to cure for a day and then I'll start masking the Martini striping.

Re: Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick
A while back I did start masking of the striping and applied the red paint.
![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately, some of the white stripped of from the primer. I must have had dirty finger, or else I can't understand what happened. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick
After sanding and cleaning the flawed areas I tried some more white paint, but it was a slichtly different shade.
![]() ![]() I've ordered the correct paint again and I'm waiting for that to arrive and have another go at this. |

Re: Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick
In the mean time I painted the wheels and assembled them. They are looking really good.

Re: Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick
I wanted to continue painting the body, but I kept having issues with the flaking paint
![]() Only one option left... dunk the model in brake fluid to remove all the paint ![]() ![]() The paint did come of nicely and after an intensive cleaning and light sanding, it was time to put a new first layer of primer on the body. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I knew those small imperfections would show up again. Nothing to worry about, just make sure to spot them all. A bit more sanding and some putty and I can leave the body now to cure. ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope to sand the putty later today and lay down the first coat of white. |
