Revell 1970 'Cuda with a Mod Top...

Okay fellas, I finally finished this thing and took better images outside like I usually try to do with every completed build. The kit used was the 1/25 scale Revell 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. First thing I did when I got it out of the box is eliminate the ugly "Off-Road" style flares that this horrible body comes with. It's just not right leaving those things on there. I also opened the grill and also the vents on the hood. After a little more work on the body, I primed with MCW Finishes Fine Primer and used Splash Paints Factory F8 Green for the color. I used Testors Medium Field Green for the interior. Once the basecoat dried, I went ahead and used Splash Paints 2K for my clear. After the 2K dried, I went ahead and wet sanded and polished. The rolling stock is compliments of Mean Machine Models, Alex Bowen offers these, and they are absolutely amazing so go to his website and order you some. You will be amazed at the details of these and the rest of the stuff he offers. Not to mention the great service and low prices. The top is a decal which is transparent so you need to use a white base first before applying it. In this case I just used Tamiya White Primer, applied two light coats of wet look clear and then applied the decal taking advantage of the slick, glossy finish of the clear to put it in place. It was a very thin decal, so I was successful after the second try. Of course, I gotta take time out and thank my good friend Frank Steffens for giving me the decals. No, he does not sell them so please don't ask. The build was inspired by the late Steven Juliano. His Mod Top ´Cuda has a great but sad story behind it. Just Google Steven Juliano´s ´Cuda for more info on the real car. Had a lot of fun with this one guys so hopefully you like it.....

Flawless build. One I would love to see in real life just to drink in the details.
