Mclaren Can Am 1/43
Hi all, just finished building three of my favourite McLaren Can-Am cars.
I think these versions are out of production but Marsh found most of the parts to make up the three kits, I did need to vac-form a windscreen for the M20 and guess a few bits. I wasn’t happy with the white metal parts so replaced most of it with brass including the exhausts, roll hoops, gear selectors, mirror stems, dash panel (M20), steering wheels and columns with Tron spokes and the minimal engine detail was quite crude, so I made three new distributors and rewired what was visible. I have had a few decal issues in the past while airbrushing some clearcoats so Tried Mr Hobby water-based gloss clear and had no decal issues and after polishing it doesn’t give the finished model the ‘boiled sweet’ look that some 2k clears can. Hope you enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow, these are absolutely stunning! Models that photos will never do justice; I wish I could see them in person.

Re: Mclaren Can Am 1/43
Thanks for the interest, yes you're right about the pictures. Unfortunately this forum is not what it used to be so I think I've just got lazy and used flickr and I don't know how to resize them.
Cheers, Lee. |
