Re: Ironhide TopKick C4500

Hello, colleagues! And Happy New Year!

Thank you Anton! I guess I finished fuel tank modeling for now.

A bit of good old-fashioned modeling. I assembled a resin engine.

Well, it's not bad. Besides even with the hood open, it is almost invisible.

Added a 4mm spacer between the crankcase and the block. The turbine was bent from 3mm solder.* I will still refine the oil filters.

So far, it will stand without pipes. By the way, here is everything that has not been used yet (or already).

Well, a couple of views on the frame:

Good luck to everyone!

Re: Ironhide TopKick C4500

Hello to everyone!
As part of maintaining activity, I made cardan shafts. However, there were not enough crosses. I need to visit my good friend - resin caster.

Well, I chose the Ford’s transfer case. It is even put on custom TopKick
Photo is small and bad, but I hope you can find similarity. Good luck to all! bye:

Re: Ironhide TopKick C4500

Hello, Friends and all sympathizers!

I looked at the date of the last post and shed tears. TopKick was left forgotten and abandoned. The frame is lying on the top shelf, it is lying... Until someone decided to wipe the dust off on the closet and swept the frame off the shelf along with the dust, GD! But about everything in order:

For example, here are some parts straight from the printer! Many thanks to friend of mine

*In addition to the tank, there are caps for the front hubs at the bottom, and the hubs themselves, which have already flashed here. And of course, I immediately (almost) rushed to attach the tank to the frame.

We all remember, and for those who do not remember, I will duplicate that there was such a photo:

Yeah! this means that there are not enough steel belts and guides. I like it!

And here they are!

And here we will return to the frame that fell off the shelf. The brackets to which the rear "earrings" were attached were burst. And I fussed and made it out of copper. Also I redesigned the semicircular blocks that are between the springs and the arched part of the earring. They are made of a semicircular 3.2 mm rod and some kind of*limiters were glued the ends of them from 0,2mm styrene. Otherwise the "earrings" always fall off the blocks.

Now, after I tried to draw the hood in program and failed, I started to make it in old school manner

I like your build so much. A shame that the updates are so few, but I understand we all need to spend time on so many other things, that this can reflect on our cool hobby.
Please don't stop this project, I'm enjoying each update

Just incredible work so far. Awesome seeing what you start with and where you take it.

Thank you mrgixxer, Deathtrap and willimo! I appreciate it!
Hello to everyone! Holly days were well spent. Construction from styrene was completed more or less.

This base used to accept epoxy patty

I tried it on to the cabin. There is still something to work on

However, it already looks familiar

Re: Ironhide TopKick C4500

That is quite a lot of putty but I love that you are sculpting the nose section. Each their own, I suppose. Ik not good at sculpting, I prefer 3D software and my printer

The picture with the red Up arrow. Is that the height you are aiming for or is your part warped?

Not everyone enjoys using 3D software and printers. Sometimes, the joy is in the tactile creation of something. To each his own, I suppose.
