Passenger kick panel vent knob removal
I've searched the internet, and this forum! I've got the pass kick panel loose but i can't get the vent knob off so i can't remove panel from the car. It's a 67 gto . I've tried pulling with a claw hammer, unscrewing it, pusging it in and turning it counterclockwise. It won't budge. If anyone can help i would be thankful!

Re: Passenger kick panel vent knob removal
Well i got the knob off! Now i can't get the kick panel out of the body! The panel has a flair on it and it won't come out of the hole. I'm about ready to cut it out. I don't see how they ever put It in at the factory!
PLEASE HELP!!!! |

Re: Passenger kick panel vent knob removal
I had a '67 Firebird, and from my recollection the panel had to be pushed slightly forward to disengage some molded-in plastic hooks from the stamped metal bulkhead behind the kick panel trim. It had the same kind of nearly impossible to remove plastic vent knob pushed on to the barbed aluminum push rod, so the trim cover may be similar as well.

Re: Passenger kick panel vent knob removal
Thanks Blue Bowtie,
I have to cut the right side fender to repair some rust, so after i cut that i may be able to access the vent, at least I'm going to wait till then. Thanks for your help, i will check that. LET |
