Little help with Chevy Equinox air conditioning issue.
Hello to all. I'm new to this forum and would like to thank everyone In advance. Just looking around I've found lots of helpful info.
I have a question about a 2020 Chevy Equinox air conditioning problem I'm having. The car has the 1.5L and has 60,000 miles on it. It quit blowing cold air and I've tried a few things with no luck so far. I've tried recharging the 1234yf system but nothing. The compressor clutch will try to engage when you cut the air on but it clicks a couple times and nothing. The clutch spins freely with your hand. I've checked a heat and air relays and fuses and they're all good. I got the air out of the system when I tried recharging it. The low pressure is reading 35 psi on the low side and 0 on the high side but since the compressor hasn't engaged wouldn't that explain zero pressure on the high side? I'm not a mechanic and I've exhausted all of my little bit of knowledge. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated |

Re: Little help with Chevy Equinox air conditioning issue.
High side pressure should be, at a minimum, no lower than the low (suction) side pressure. That would be when the system is equalized (compressor not running) and should be much higher when the compressor is running. Verify that the gauge manifold line connections are actually connected and depressing the valve cores. It sounds like the high side connection may not be opening the core on the Schrader valve.
35 PSIG is about the pressure where the compressor cycling switch would open, shutting off the compressor clutch.

Re: Little help with Chevy Equinox air conditioning issue.
BTW - Is this a dual-air system or just the single (front) system?

Re: Little help with Chevy Equinox air conditioning issue.
It's just the single front system. I'm guessing the Shrader valve is on the compressor and I can put a multimeter on it to check it out? Do you know where on the low side the PSI usually is when the clutch engages? Thanks

Re: Little help with Chevy Equinox air conditioning issue.
The high-side Schrader valve should be on the compressor discharge line or near the condenser in front of the radiator.
Both pressures are dependent upon temperature. Pull out the T/P chart for R134a and see if its close. The
