Brake lights in the front side of the car

Hello everyone! Can anyone explain why automobile manufacturers don't want to make brake lights in the front side of the car so anybody could see if the driver is stopping? Thank You!

Re: Brake lights in the front of the car

Federal motor vehicle restrictions in North America prohibit any forward-facing lamp with a red coloring except for emergency vehicles. Further, I fail to see any logical benefit to indicate braking to another vehicle ahead of the braking vehicle. Is there some potential benefit to this that I am not understanding?

Not to another vehicle. It's for pedestrians. I can't see if it's braking when I cross the road.

Perhaps use caution and common sense when a vehicle is approaching? You're a pretty good bot, I'll give you that.

Re: Break lights in the front of the car

Crosswalks & Red lights stopping/yielding is optional in your county. I've seen the dash cam videos.

These lights might be green - this corresponds to giving a green signal to a pedestrian (or even to a vehicle on a perpendicular road). When these lights do not shine, the other traffic participant will be warned.

Can we make secret questions (first pet, mother’s maiden name, school, etc) part of the registration process on here?

That would reduce bot registration by half!

Agreed; requires owner or Admin changes to the site. PM Igor or an admin to inquire.

Could you please forward my suggestion? I never hear back from them, and it might carry more weight coming from a moderator than from a user.

Re: Break lights in the front of the car

Sure thing.

And, since this thread is a waste and has turned into a bot magnet, I'll close it.
