Help with Escort interior colour

Hi all

Trying to regain some modelling mojo, I pulled out my 2 Belkits Mk1 Escorts & made a start. Looking at the instructions for both, they seem to show the cockpit 'pan' to be painted X-11 (Chrome). Given the propensity for a lot of 70's rally cars to have black interiors, I would've thought this was the case, not chrome or some other 'steel' colour.

Advice anyone...?

Is there nobody on this forum who has a bit more knowledge on Mk 1 Escorts? I've already tried searching online for interior pics of both of Belkits' subjects with little success

My research would suggest white steel floor pan, but completely covered with black carpet. Please see...

Thanks for the link mate. Maybe it was my 'too specific' search parameters...I don't know. A couple of these photos I used for my 2 kits. Most, I didn't see before.

I ended up going with all black floor pan & door cards with the main part of the door white
