Carter W-O rebuild on L134 CJ-2A
I just finished rebuilding the Carter W-O carb on my 48 Willy's CJ-2A with the 2.2L L134 Go Devil. I also replaced the spark plugs. Now it will not idle or run at all unless fully choked. I have played with the idle and other adjustments on the carb and tried adjusting the timing, but I'm just guessing here. I did have to adjust the float to clear 3/8" due to the new needle valve but all else went together well. The exhaust is making popping noise as well. Smells rich.

I'll be doing the same thing on this barn-stored version, also a '48, very soon. It runs on starter fluid manually fed through the air horn but the inlet needle won't accept fuel. Hopefully I have better luck.

Re: Carter W-O rebuild on L134 CJ-2A
My rebuild was very straightforward, with the only struggle getting the accelerator pump check balls to stay in place for assembly without packing them in grease. Got it, though. It's a wee bit lean at tip in, but runs fine.
