Are these tires properly mounted?

I recently replaced had two tires replaced on my wife’s 2006 Toyota Corolla. She complained that they looked a little flat. The air pressure seems okay, 30 psi, but they do seem to bulge at the bottom. They also seem a bit further back on the rim then previous tires we have had. I can see maybe a pencil’s width where before it was maybe half that. Does anything look like a concern? Thanks!

Exclamation Re: Are these tires properly mounted?

That outer tire bead does not look seated. Who mounted the tires?

Re: Are these tires properly mounted?

I see you posted here as well as Car Talk. Here's what I said over there:

First, those look fully seated to me. I think we're looking at the difference in lower sidewall shape.

Second, even if they aren't fully seated, there enough force in the air pressure that a little bit of driving will seat them.

Re: Are these tires properly mounted?

If you look close to the edge of the rim the tire generally has a line that is molded into it. This line you can follow around the wheel and verify that the bead is seated correctly, most tires I have seen have had a similar line like this as part of the tire.
