no spark/fuel to one side 5.7L Hemi

If anyone has had this problem, any suggestions are appreciated.

My Dad has a 2003 Dodge Ram 5.7L Hemi pickup. I was talking to him tonight and he said while driving across the state the other night his truck simply lost engine power. It runs rough and wants to roll over and die but he was able to limp home okay. He has been working on it in his garage for a few days now and says that the left bank simply has no spark at the plugs and no fuel through the injectors….but only on the left side. Thus, no spark + no fuel = no go on 4 cyl.…..sorry for my lack of detail but we only spoke for a moment on the phone.

I’ve been reading a few other posts on here and everyone has been pretty good about suggestions but nobody ever mentions the lack of fuel and spark on only one side. Plus, it seems nobody posts their “I fixed it by” comment to wrap up these posts which makes me wonder if there are just a bunch of 5.7 liters hanging out dead some place that people gave up on.

Thank you

Re: no spark/fuel to one side 5.7L Hemi

The one thing that is common to both the coils and injectors is that the power is supplied by the ASD Relay. If you can get a wiring diagram you will see that there are many splices on this circuit. It is the dark green with orange tracer wire. A factory wiring diagram would be best as it would show the locaton of the splices .http://www.oplin.org/databases/proxy...%2fframerq.asp You can use this link in the box type 12345 and click on submit; choose the Meigs library in the drop down box and click on submit. When the page loads click on the ARRC and choose what you want from there. You want to pick the wiring diagrams and then engine controls. The 2nd page in the engine controls diagram will show you what I am talking about.

Would an open in the ASD relay circuit cause the throttle actuator to quit working?
