05 chevy impala tranny
Ok y'all I drive my car it was doin fine then I peeled out a bit also it was a police car lol but I drove it to walmart like 3miles across town like 2 miles then I went down my alley and roasted the tire but I got down the road like 5 blocks and it lost all power to the tranny except in reverse I dunno is it a tranny seliniod or a torque covert censor or a filter anything would help

Tranny is busted. That is one transmission that should never be abused because they fail all the time. I bet forward band went, which means full rebuild.

5¢ says the differential gear set is almost roasted, too. Wrong Wheel Drive transaxles really don't have the robust mechanical strength to tolerate abuse like a longitudal unit. If you ever inspect the toilet paper core input torque tube in a 4T65 or derivative, it would be fairly appparent.
![]() Then there is the ultra-thin stamped sheet metal "stovepipe" clutch housing. ![]() Despite the fact that they might tolerate a few heavy launches, damage is cumulative, and doesn't heal itself. The black and white paint on the doors and little plastic "Police Interceptor" badge stuck on the trunk lid don't make the trans any stronger.
