99 cirrus engine issues
My daughter was idling outside a store waiting on friend. Car starts over heating. She kills the car to let it cool. After a bit she cranked it and when she went to move it it had no power steering. A few days later her and her boyfriend tried to put it on a trailer but it wouldn’t crank. Somehow they got it home. It sounded like a belt to me but belt is on and feels ok. It is weathered. The car will turn over but will not crank even when being jumped. This was a really good car and only has 123k for its age. I am no auto genius by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: 99 cirrus engine issues
If it overheated, the battery died, and there is no power steering it is a belt issue.
Which engine is it? They could have come with a 2.0 L4, 2.4 L4, or 2.5 V6.

2.5 v6
It sounds like belt to me but both are on and feel decently tight. |

not sure if this matters but it did come with alarm. I have unhooked it because tired of it going off while trying to crank car.

Re: 99 cirrus engine issues
I'd look at the crank pulley to make sure it didn't come apart.
