Move the passenger side seat back all the way. You start by removing the passenger side kick panel and remove the blower motor. 3 bolts secure it to the lower HVAC assembly. One electrical connector. The BMR is located behind the blower at the firewall and secured by a few screws.

GM/AC Delco BMR runs round $50 and available at a GM dealer. Aftermarket Wells brand at places like Autozone goes for around $20-$30.

Re: 2002 grand prix blower motor resistor

It's not the kick panel, it's the hush panel(under the passenger side)........

Just follow the wire harness from the blower motor(this does not have to be removed) back to the blower resistor......disconnect the harness from the block....

That is the easy part........there are 3 5.5mm screws....two come out easy...the third doesn't....

Yes, that screw closest to the floor/firewall will have you typing something like #$...*_&⌠#!! when describing it. It's not impossible, but is a challenge. I've found that a thumbwheel adapter for a ¼" drive ratchet is very handy in this area.

I use a 1/4 drive universal joint and a 5mm socket on a screw driver handle for that back screw.....
