97 caravan door ajar light stays on

The door ajar light on my 97 caravan will not go off, I've cleaned all the contacts and it still doesn't work right. Also because of this the auto locks won't work either. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have experienced the same problem with my 91 dodge caravan. The problem was rectified with the replacement of the side sliding door switch. Once it was replaced the light went off and the auto lock feature worked.
