Removing a Broken Oil Cap
Hyundai Azera Limited
141k miles Inscrutably, the ratcheting oil cap will not twist off. I'm guessing from the sound and feel as I twist the cap counterclockwise that the pawl has broken inside the cap. Clearly I must replace the thing. But first, I gotta get it off. How does one remove a stuck oil cap without creating plastic detritus that'll invariably fall inside head? |

Re: Removing a Broken Oil Cap
On a different vehicle. I wound up breaking off the cap and using channel locks to unscrew the rest.

Re: Removing a Broken Oil Cap
Geez... that was easy. Snapped the cap off with large channel locks, and simply unscrewed the rest. It took longer to post!
