Exclamation 1999 Blazer no start no crank no click no starter power

After putting in a new ignition (already programmed the ignition to the computer), motor, and tranny, we got my 1999 blazer to start right up, time after time. After one night, we changed the tranny pan gasket and went to see if it leaked, turned the key over and nothing, the crank fuse gets power and is not blown, the relay is not clicking and a new relay doesn't do the trick. I don't know if there is any security problems or something. My main suspect is the neutral safety switch. But I have no evidence. Any thoughts?

Re: 1999 Blazer no start no crank no click no starter power

Welcome to the forum!

Is there any Security or Theft light that flashes when it won't start? Do you have a spare key that you can try? Have you tried shifting to neutral to see if it starts that way?

When you turn the key to the Accessory position do the accessories power up and does the ignition perform the bulb test in the Run position? Have you measured the battery voltage when the key is in the Start position?

Re: 1999 Blazer no start no crank no click no starter power

Well, if the starter relay doesn't click, you have to find which element is missing....

There are four wires to the relay.......remove the relay.......with key out of the ignition, with a test light attached to ground, probe all 4 connectors....only one should light....this is the feed from the 40a fuse(powers the starter)...

Now hold the key in the crank position, and probe the other 3 contacts.....only one should be lit...release key and the light should go out.....if light is on, that means the 20a ign fuse, the ignition switch, the 10a crank fuse, and the P/N switch is ok....if it isn't lit, then one of the four elements is bad or you have an open wire/bad connection somewhere in the circuit......

The other two leads for the relay are a ground, and the other one is the power out to the starter....if you jumper the contact with the 40a fuse to the relay output contacy, the vehicle will crank over....if you jumper that 40a fuse to the wrong lead, the ground, you will blow the fuse....
