Ferrari FXX-K in blue

Hi guys, today I want to present my FXX-K from Tamiya.



The kit has been introduced several times, so I will not go into too many details. I decided to build Peter Mann's #27. Paint is Zero's Blu Eletrico, as I still had one jar at home, and it's very much like Zero's Blu Tour de France. I also used Zero's Canna di Fucile for the roof, Studio 27 decals for #27 and Tamiya CF and PE. I didn't add any additional details except the most obvious orange wires and some rods at the front cooler.

"Borrowing" bejonek's idea with the laptop background, I tried to create some shots of the car on a race track. The pictures didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but still...
The spinning wheels were printed on paper and put in front of the wheels.

Looks great. I like it in blue. Nice track photos, if you paint where the model is with the gray color of the background track would be even better. Nice job.

Nice model! Love that car, saw it in December at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali in Daytona...along w/a bunch of the other FXXK's. Along with thousands of other amazing Ferraris...it was sensory overload.

Great build! I'm planning on building mine in the same color, as I have about half a jar left - hopefully enough. I agree its more like TDF blue, and unfortunately less like the real Blu Electrico. Zero got it wrong this time.

For my build, I'm using the Hobby Design transkit and pretending I'm the owner, not Peter Mann, so I might use a different number.

I found it's very difficult. The cardboard I used is actually lighter than the grey(s) of the track, but turns out much darker on the photos as I mainly lit the scene/car from the side.

Maybe you can be more economical than me. I used about 60 % of the jar. It's so many single parts to be painted separately. But I also had to do some repainting/repair of certain areas.
