China slapped a $29 million fine on General Motors for antitrust violations, a sign of the growing tensions between the US and the Asian nation.

The same thing happened with China fining Daimler, Toyota, Audi, and Nissan. Now GM's joint venture in China has been slapped. As a result it will possibly end all joint ventures with major manufacturers. This could be a step back into the dark ages for China, as retaliatory trade policies are seldom taken lightly.
