I am having a new issue with my 2003 ford windstar
The Drivers side rear (non electric/non automatic) sliding door will not close/latch unless I force it to. By forcing I mean putting some A$$ into it...literally! I can close it as soft or as hard as i can and it won't latch. I have to bump my butt into it with some force at the back end of the door to get it to latch. My husband said it came ajar while he was driving down his works bumpy dirt road on Thursday. I have checked the latch part and it looks fine as well as lubricated every place I could see. Any clue?! |

Re: 2003 ford windstar drivers side manual sliding door
The only thing I can think of, maybe something stuck along the track keeping the door from closing all the way. Loose change, a pebble...
Did the issue just start abruptly?

Re: 2003 ford windstar drivers side manual sliding door
I've checked all of the tracks, nothing in them, even greased the rollers/track and still not helping. It started a few months back, I would have problems shutting the door and just quit using it all together. When I do HAVE to use it, when I shut it I have to push hard on the back of the door to force it to latch. I've quit putting my "A$$" into it as its leaving dents.......LOL........my bad.
