Insurance advice on total loss issue
Hey all,
So I really would love some good advice or suggestions on this issue. Just recently, my car insurance allowed me to take CRV to service hail damage repair. Front window almost shattered, cracks all over from a bad hail storm. In addition, front hood was potted up and top of car was dented-up due to the storm. Turns out that the estimated cost to repair is worth more than the value of my used car. Insurance considers the vehicle a Total Loss and they will not pay for the car repair. For this, insurance wants me to decide if I want to keep car and get paid about 4k or give up car for 6k with its Title ( I have this). I am not really sure what to do because with 6k I can buy a used car, but a risk to purchase from independent owner...risky move and I do not know anyone I can buy car from. Unfortunately, I recently graduated from college so I do not have much on my savings to fork up for a new/used car as a down payment from a dealer. With its current high milage, I think it will be more challenging to sell later. ![]() I would love some good advice. |

Re: Insurance advice on total loss issue
If your car is drivable - drive it. New windshield will cost around 150 dollars.
But that, of course, what I would do. Good luck, Sam
