pro tip (I'm not a pro) I'd practice on something that isnt cast (brake rotors are usually cast). Probably good for perfecting technique though. Its been a good 10+ years but I used to work at a trailer shop. I done a tiny amount of TIG, mostly MIG. Kinda miss it honestly. One of these days I won't be an apartment dweller.....

but hey, as long as I'm not looking for Pokemon its a good day as a functioning adult, right?

Yeah, I know about cast metals. I've done stick, MIG and oxy.. this was just my first time with TIG.
My main problem was not having anything at the house to really sharpen my tungsten. Keeping the arc and the puddle under control with a flat tipped electrode isn't easy.
Keep meaning to bring my die grinder home to do some sharpening. I'm afraid the abrasive disks won't do a lot verses the tungsten... waiting on a cheap bench grinder to come in from Amazon.

I don't know about that Pokémon thing. Even my wife is playing... seems like everyone under 30 is. I never got into it back in the day when Pokémon first came out in the 90's.

Well, if you're willing to step outside your comfort zone, and you have a smartphone, I know quite a few people in the area that have had decent luck on Tinder... hell, I originally met my wife in a yahoo chatroom, about 13 years ago.

I've never tried Tinder (requires you have a facebook account to sign up) but I've tried other dating sites/apps, both free and paid. I'm the problem, not necessarily meeting someone I guess.

On another note... Washer/Dryer sets are freaking expensive. Was looking at used ones and decided I might as well just buy new, and spend as much as I could justify and hopefully they'll last me 10-20 years. Samsung makes some pretty sweet ones...

.... talk about "adulting".... referring to a washing machine as pretty sweet..... fuck I feel old.

I have a Samsung washer. As with all Samsung products, it was great until the warranty period was up. Now it tends to walk out of the laundry room and around the corner, if anyone puts it on high spin.
I went with a Kenmore dryer more recently, after my used Maytag was breaking too often keep fixing. Haven't had any issues with it, but only had it a year.

My refrigerator is also Samsung. It too became sketchy, but I've since fixed my issues with it.

Man I get mixed reviews on all brands. I'm just going to pick whichever is the shiniest in the 12-1500 range.

And no facebook for me, I deleted it a couple years ago, one of the best choices I ever made.

I do Instagram, but its mostly self promotion for my work.

I have Facebook, because that's where I can post pictures of my kids for my family to see. Literally 22 'friends', and all but 3 are family.. They can't seem to figure out Google+, which is where I do self promo.

Although Google+ seems to be dying a slow death these days, much like this forum, and wife said I need to get Instagram or Twitter.... I do a lot of lengthy technical write-ups on Google+ though, that I don't think are possible with those other formats.

Google+ never really made it off the ground I thought. In fact, didnt even know it sill existed...

It did actually. It had a learning curve and didn't catch on with people as fast as anyone was thinking it would. Probably because it was nothing like anything else.

Although the guy who was the head of it at Google left to go work elsewhere, and since then, it's been dying a slow death. The science and technology crowd have been about the only groups keeping it alive. I don't think Google really knows what to do with it anymore, so they leave it alone.

I like it and I'm still there though.
