Ok Ok, we get it now -cigarettes are bad.

I'm wondering when the government will mandate that cars have a "driving this vehicle may kill you or others" sticker on them.

I like the idea. I think we should run with it. Using these precedents could lead to all kinds of beneficial rules. A lot of people have sex and some of them get STDs, we should require all sex organs to be permanently tattooed with health warnings.

I know you are being rhetorical, but the difference is... tobacco products are the only consumer item (that I can think of) that WILL harm/kill you when used as intended.

Obviously, automobiles, sex organs etc will not kill/harm you when used as intended. "Driving this vehicle" will not harm or kill you.... it's the hitting of large objects that does the harm.

IMO the intention and expectation of use makes the difference. Yes, we all have free will live our lives and make our own decisions. But we should be able to do this free of the sophisticated marketing and manipulation that tobacco companies employ.

100% of people who smoke do not die from smoking. And really, there are MANY things that WILL harm you when used as intended...

Well beyond that, you might mention that the air pollution from automobiles harms those with asthma and other lung conditions... automotive second hand smoke if you will. You ever been to L.A. by chance?

Really all I was trying to say is, I think we all understand that smoking is bad for your health, how much more time does the government need to put into getting this message across? The horse seems pretty dead to me.

I don't like cigarettes and ashes being thrown out of car windows so we get that ash in our lungs.
