Calipers back to manufacturer?

My name is Carl and I live in New York State. I have a question about sending calipers back to the manufacturer. Are the service shops required to send the calipers back to the manufacturer once they remove them from your car? I'm having work done on a 2001 Honda Accord. Thanks in advance for answering.

The ONLY time we are required to send parts back is if they are under warranty and the factory asks for them back (does not apply to your 2001) OR if the part has a core charge on it (may apply to your vehicle). If you want to pay the core charge to keep them, then that's up to you.

Carl.

What exact problem do you have with your car?

If your caliper sticks or leaks it is possible to buy a rebuild kit and fix it.

You can also buy a new or remanufactured unit. Stay away from Dorman stuff though.

Good luck,
Sam
