My oldest surviving model-a red Corvette

This is a 1962 Corvette I built in the mid 70's, and is the oldest surviving model that I built-I had built quite a few by this time, but gave them away/threw them away/blew them up/whatever. I just found a replacement rear bumper half to complete this "one owner beauty"! I was about 16 when I built this, and from what I see here any 16 year old today can and does build way better than this! I'm leaving this as-is, to remind me of the "good old days". Just check out the fabulous paint and detail. Hey, at least it wasn't brush painted!

Looks great I like the old duel light Corvettes better then the first single lighted ones. Got a shot of the engine?

No engine shot, the hood was glued shut. It's a pretty crude model by today's standards, regardless of my building skills when I was 16-Revell's latest '59 Corvette is worlds better, and I'll build one or two of them someday.

Is that an AMT glue kit or snap kit? I probably have a few extra Mustang parts-what parts broke on yours?

Yeah, it does sit kinda high, but still looks like a really good model. I've gone back to some of my older models and lowered a few of them that I didn't pay that much attention to when I built them.

Back then a model was probably in the $2-$4 range, can't remember exactly. I remember in the mid '80's you could get standard model kits at Wal Mart for $2.88 each regular price-that was cheap. Now they're about $9-$11 each, still pretty cheap. I can get a newly reissued '62 Corvette-the same one I built so long ago-for about $10.00 at a discount place.

It's AMT's 94 Mustang GT, hence my SN. This model was built right before I found this message board and Brians Model Cars. I've gotten a lot better since then. You can visit my site for some pics of more recent models. Don't wanna drive up my post count by putting them all on here...seems sort of like cheating to me. I'm just using the car as a doner now. Using the engine in a Jeep, and the seats in a custom F-150 SVT Lightning. Doesn't bother me to lose it. Might even be able to use the crappy rims on something, or make it into a junk yard car. The possiblities are endless.
