1998 Tahoe Wont turn off at times Fuse Ign B
I have a1998 Tahoe, It runs fine but at times wont turn off. When running you can turn the key off but it keeps running. You have to get out and pull the power to the coil pack to shut it off. But it starts fine. Also at times you can shut it off, but then a few minutes later the gauges and fuel pump kick back on for a few seconds then shut off and keeps repeating it until I unhook the battery or pull Fuse Ign B under the hood. Any idea what it could be? It does not blow any fuses.

the ignition switch this old must be bad. springs are in it. sometimes these break. esp this old with lots of key turning.. the rod from the key to the switch may be worn also .. replace the switch see that it is snappy compared to the old one. I once had a 1990 ford that tried to start by itself. though it was the solenoid. it was a ignition switch.

Re: 1998 Tahoe Wont turn off at times Fuse Ign B
That was going to be my next move. Just thought Id ask in case anyone else has run into this. I was leaning more to a relay if there is a relay. It started doing it after I jumped another vehicle and thought I heard a click around the engine. Then went to shut it off and wouldnt shut off. But I have a extra ignition switch so will change that, cant hurt.
