it looks to be a wiped out rod or main bearing. was engine knocking before you took it apart. why did you take pan off?

I am not sure if it was knock but this was the sound before I took it apart..

Also when I took it apart I also removed crankshaft journals and bearing (those half moon) and I dont see any damage..just the normal wear

I am yet to remove further parts from bottom end... also started taking head apart..did not reach the head bolts yet...neither have taken valve cover off..

can't tell if noise was coming from up top or down below. did you take the main caps or the rod caps off?

are 2 set of bearings down there, there are 2 on each conecting rod, they go up and down with the pistons as crank rotates. the main bearings are what hold the crank in the block, should have 2 or more bolts holding them on and will be about 5 of the main bearing caps. if you can take a picture of the one rod cap you pulled off, want to see what bearing looks like

thats a connecting rod cap and bearing shell, will be another one on the top. now you need to pull the main bearing caps and check all of them. there is a lot of metal embedded in that bearing, block needs to be taken apart, tanked and rebuilt
