Lancia 037 with a big difference Part 2
As some of you may know I was building a 1/10th Lancia 037 as no one was making a large scale rally car.
See. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1063099 I was enjoying myself but my modelling time is limited. So when MFH said they were bring out a 037 in 1/12th scale I had to get one. I order a different version so at some point I could get back to mine. Well it has come now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lot and lots of white metal parts, turned wheels. Will be adding some extra details, keep watching. |

Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference Part 2
A year? three years to me and I would make a mess of it!
I so admire people who are willing to spend this amount and have the skills to pull it off. Maybe one day I will get there. |

Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference Part 2
Started on the front frame.
All going together ok. Made sure everything was good before using glue. Will take screws out later when fixed. But have found out the shocks are about 2mm to short and dont like the springs. Can work with them but want them to look right. So will make up better shocks from these parts and some other bits. ![]()

Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference Part 2
Still working on the springs but also moved onto the steering.
This is wrong. The 2 parts from the kit. MFH had the top bar across the frame this is wrong in my eyes. Also have photos to back this up. ![]() How it should look. ![]() Bit more work to do but should be something like this. ![]() Bit more adjusting and and some nuts. |

Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference Part 2
Nice to see someone else is building the kit. Me too and I'm at the same stage now. Good improvement on the steering bar. Where did you find the layout drawing reference? I can't find any of those drawing on the net.
Regards. |

Seems there are a few of us with these and watching you trailblaze.
Not sure if you have seen this, unfortunately it is in Japanese, but has some very good photos for reference. https://www.hlj.com/product/SAE62371/Aut Last edited by malscar; 10-02-2015 at 11:17 PM. Reason: Adding link |

I have many photos I have taken for when I was building the 1/10th scale model. But always good to have as many as you can get. |

Re: Lancia 037 with a big difference Part 2
Beautiful-looking kit - even if there might be some details which need sorting out. Please don't forget the 1/10 version, though! Looking forward to seeing more progress (in either scale) - keep up the good work.

This is wrong. The 2 parts from the kit. MFH had the top bar across the frame this is wrong in my eyes. QUOTE] The top bar is supposed to be a sort of strut brace with adjustable ends. You are right in saying it looks more like a steering stabilizer. Interesting.....just checked my reference book and the real part does not look like the kit part. Never mind I just looked at the kit instructions...I see what they did, They put a steering stabilizer on the "frame because to lazy to make it where it's supposed to be. Good catch! |
